This market research report outlines the market size and forecast for automotive superchargers until 2019. The report details the market segmentation by twin-screw supercharger and centrifugal supercharger, by end-users including OEMs and the aftermarket, and by geography (APAC, Americas, and EMEA). The leading vendors analyzed are A & A Corvette Performance, Magnuson, and Paxton Automotive.

Technavio’s market research analysts estimate the global automotive supercharger market to grow at a CAGR of 10% between 2015 and 2019. The growth of the global automotive supercharger market can be attributed to various benefits such as improved engine efficiency offered by superchargers, and also the environmental advantages offered by superchargers. EMEA is the largest market for automotive superchargers globally, accounting for 65% of the total market share. The growth in the supercharger market is primarily driven by factors such as fuel-efficiency norms, and downsizing of engine. Germany is one of the leading countries in the global automotive supercharger market by production volume, with a market share of 23-28%.

The new market research report from Technavio provides a breakdown and analysis of the sealants and adhesives segments by technology.

“One of the major trends emerging in the market is the introduction of controlled power technologies (CPT) in electric superchargers. The CPT electric supercharger uses switched reluctance motor technology that is highly efficient and avoids the use of permanent magnets and other rare materials. The OEMs have started to focus on electric chargers boosting as an efficient alternative to the mechanical supercharging and/or twin turbocharging systems currently used in most of the micro hybrid vehicles,” says Siddarth Jaiswal, Lead Analyst, Automotive, Technavio Research.

Centrifugal supercharger, helps in compressing the air inside the case of the supercharger using an impeller. The air is then discharged out of a scroll to the motor. The design is similar to turbo-charging except that these type of superchargers don’t use an exhaust to generate the air pressure. They carry out the function similar to that of a supercharger using a belt driven by the crank pulley to rotate the impeller.

The leading vendors in the global automotive supercharger market include A & A Corvette Performance, Magnuson, and Paxton Automotive.
