This week in ICT: Parkmobile and Smart Parking recognized as IDC innovators, Hive rolls out Hive Welcome Home, while Volvo is all set to partner with Google on connected cars

This week while the UK smarthome leader is all set to win North America, an automotive giant partnered with a technology king to up its stance on connected cars. Also Parkmobile got recognized as one of the IDC innovators.

United Kingdom’s leading smart home brand Hive has come up with a set of subscription-based smart home service plans. Called ‘Hive Welcome Home’, this service combines lighting, thermostat, sensors, and plugs with a mobile app to turn your home into a smart home system. At present this service is available in the UK and US, and will soon be available in Canada and Ireland as well.

Also, as the smart city trend is catching up, there has been a growing demand for smart parking solutions as well. The recent IDC Innovators report has recognized Parkmobile (USA), and Smart Parking Ltd. (Australia) as leading innovators in smart parking solutions. Fybr (USA) and Worldsensing (Spain) are the other two vendors which have been recognized in this report. Smart parking solutions make most of the technologies like Big Data, Cloud, and Mobile Analytics to make use of the parking spaces in the most intelligent manner.
