With iPhone 8 and iPhone X, Apple is Again Redefining ‘Smart’

iPhone

For iPhone fans, the launch day of every new smartphone model is an occasion when they take a break from their everyday lives and just sit down to watch the tech giant unveil its latest take on the iPhone saga. On Tuesday, the mood was eclectic when Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, showcased iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X, along with the new smartwatch, Apple Watch 3. Effectively, rewriting the future of popular and personalized smart devices!

iPhone 8 : What’s on offer?

An incremental update on iPhone 7, the front and back of iPhone 8 is made of the most durable glass known in the smartphone world. This all new glass design is reinforced by laser welded steel and copper and is both dust and water resistant. True Tone feature has powered the retina HD display, and the phone is available in two sizes – 4.7” and 5.5”.

The True Tone technology provides better viewing experience by automatically adjusting white balance to match the light around the user. The fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating along with dual-domain pixels for wide viewing angles is a major improvement over the previous model.

Another outstanding feature of this model is the A11 Bionic chip, which according to the manufacturers is the “most beautiful and smartest chip ever used in a smartphone.” The chip has four efficiency cores which are around 70% faster than the A10 Fusion.

But, when it comes to the best features, then it is the wireless charging that has caught the attention of techies as well as non-specialists around the globe. Though Samsung has included this feature in its Galaxy devices, Apple has added a highly functional version of it in both, the iPhone 8 as well as the iPhone 8 Plus. The phone’s glass back enables this feature. All you have to do is place the phone on the supplied power pad.

No discussion about the iPhone can be complete without talking about the fabled iOS operating system (OS). The latest model runs on iOS 11, which has a simpler look, refined control center, peer-to-peer Apple Pay Option, and safety features like do not disturb while driving which is triggered when the user is driving. Alongside these, the usual goodies that the typical iPhone is famous for are all bundled up.

Lastly, coming to the camera and video features – the 12MP camera, has a new facial landmarking feature which creates dramatic studio lighting effects in the portrait mode. The video feature provides 4K video recording with a speed of upto 60 fps. Still the best in the business!

iPhone X, on the other hand, is seen by many as the best use of augmented reality. Yet to be launched in the market, this model will be a breakthrough from the previous iPhone versions as it will not be having the home button and Touch ID.

No doubt, Apple products are one of their kind. This explains why the entire tech community is on its toes before any product launch from Apple. With iPhone 8 and iPhone X, Apple lives upto its reputation and has redefined the smart element in smartphones – something which its competitors are diligently trying to emulate.
