Competitive vendor landscape

The key vendors in the market have been compared based on three platforms including product, product review, company expertise review and rank. It is expected that these platforms will evolve over the next 3-5 years, and the current growth momentum in the autonomy space is expected to allow all three of them to survive till the end of the forecast period. However, an aggressive approach by a non-industry player like Intel can impact either of these players, except perhaps NXP, since its already in the Qualcomm portfolio.

“Some major vendors are expected to the enter the AVDP industry mainly because of the large amounts invested by these vendors in the industry. Few of them are expected to have a significant impact on the industry during the forecast period. Some suppliers need to increase their investments in the autonomous vehicle industry as many of them may witness low margins in the autonomy era,” says Siddarth Jaiswal, a lead analyst at Technavio for research on automotive electronics.
