Competitive vendor landscape
The market for 3PL in Brazil is highly fragmented in nature due to the presence of numerous multinational, regional, and local vendors. Local players in the market pose a stiff threat to other competitors by providing outstanding services. Smaller and local vendors compete based on the cost, as competing with international vendors with respect to quality, features, and range of offerings isn’t feasible. Vendors in the market focus on making heavy investments for the development of technologies that can increase their operational efficiencies. During the forecast period, international players are expected to showcase inorganic growth fueled by the acquisition of regional players.
“The 3PL market in Brazil is currently experiencing an upsurge in the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles. 3PL providers are increasingly switching to the use of eco-friendly electric vehicles and renewable sources of energy and the use of hydrogen fuel cells to generate energy. CEVA Logistics is a non-asset based supply chain solutions and logistics services company. The company was formed as a result of a merger between TNT Logistics and Eagle Global Logistics. The company engages in providing supply chain solutions in freight management, contract logistics, and distribution and transportation management to large and medium-sized companies. It operates through a global network of more than 1,000 locations and serves over 160 countries. As of FY2015, the company generated revenues of almost $7 billion.
DB SCHENKER
DB Schenker is a provider of integrated logistics services. It supports global industry and trade in the exchange of goods including land transport, worldwide air and ocean freight, supply chain management, and contract logistics. The company is a part of Deutsche Bahn. Some of the key end-user segments of the company include automotive, beverages, building materials, consumer, chemicals, electronics, marine parts, semiconductor/solar, healthcare/pharma, industrial, metals and coal, and retail industries. The company had branches in around 140 countries worldwide and generated revenues of more than $22 billion as of FY2015.
Deutsche Post DHL
Deutsche Post DHL is a logistics and mail communications company that offers integrated services and tailored solutions for the processing and transportation of information and goods in the global market. The company mainly operates under two brands – Deutsche Post and DHL, which provides a range of freight transportation, international express, e-commerce, and supply chain management services worldwide. As of FY2015, the company generated revenue of more than $68 billion.
Kuehne + Nagel

Nippon Express
A freight forwarding and logistics provider, Nippon Express, offers a range of logistics solutions catering to various business categories and covering varied business conditions. Some of the company’s key service offerings include air freight, marine transport, moving service, heavy haulage, logistics design and IT, and fine arts transport. As of March 2015, the company comprised of 299 subsidiaries, including 266 consolidated subsidiaries and one equity-method subsidiary, and 69 affiliates. For FY2015, the company generated a revenue of approximately $16 billion.
