London, 13 July 2015 – Technavio, a tech-focused research firm, has published a new report on the video on demand (VOD) market in the US, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of nearly 26% from 2015-2019.

According to the latest report by Technavio, the number of online videos watched has increased twofold in past two years. The online audience is no longer looking at videos just as a form of entertainment, but is using this medium to build a strong online presence.

“In the US, more than 70% of adults watch online videos on a weekly basis. There has also been a radical shift in video content from short to longer films, which has impacted overall market growth,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of Technavio.

The new Technavio report also emphasizes VOD service providers that have added popular content to their libraries, including the latest in films, music, and other content.

“When viewers use VOD services several times a week, it creates an opportunity for service providers to analyze their viewing habits and ensure that they have access to  desirable content,” says Ghaus.
