London, 24 June 2015 – Technavio, a tech-focused research firm, has published a new report on the global forensic technologies market, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of close to 8% from 2015-2019.
According to the latest report by Technavio, the recent technological advances in DNA profiling, such as microchip technologies and miniaturization, have enabled forensic analysis and testing of even old, micro, decomposed, and degraded DNA samples.
“DNA profiling helps identify suspects in rape cases, murders, and other violent crimes, and can help prove the innocence of the wrongfully accused. It can also be used to identify the remains of victims of disasters, which has led to the widespread utilization of this technology,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of Technavio.
The new market survey by Technavio also emphasizes the increase in use of forensics for DNA profiling, criminal investigations, intelligence, and defense, which has led to the introduction of new technologies like forensics IT, high-tech biometrics, and forensics chemistry.
“As more and more crimes are committed over the Internet, resources and procedures to locate, search, and preserve electronic evidence are in high demand,” says Ghaus.
