TechNavio today launched its report BPO Market in China 2011-2015 based on an in-depth study focusing exclusively on China. The report aims to aid decision makers and understanding of the present and future landscape of the market.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio’s IT Services team said; ”As a result of the growth of the human resource outsourcing (HRO) segment in the business process outsourcing (BPO) market in China, global service providers such as Hewitt, ADP, and Convergys have increased their focus on capturing the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector in this country. But over a period of time, clients have realized that solutions offered by global firms are beyond their requirement and are also relatively expensive. Hence, they have started partnering with local vendors such as FESCO, CIIC, China Star, and China Talent Group, which provide tailor-made solutions for small and medium-sized firms. This has led to intense competition between the local and global vendors in the market, which is good for the sustained growth of the HRO segment.”
According to the report, labor arbitrage, i.e., the shifting of processes from more expensive locations to less expensive locations, has long been regarded as one of the prospective benefits of BPO. Firms that incorporate the strategy of outsourcing business processes need not invest in resources or worry about handling their limited available resources. Outsourcing of business processes helps them gain access to local talent and advanced technologies in another country, while simultaneously maintaining a lean workforce. Also, client firms can develop an economical cost structure as they do not have to pay for extra office space, equipment, or specialized employees. They also do not need to invest in in-house staff training. Therefore, client firms can focus on their core competencies and obtain a competitive edge in the market.
Further, the report also discusses that lack of data privacy is expected to remain a major concern for this market.
The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key players.
