London, 04 August 2015 – Technavio, a tech-focused research firm published a new report on the head-up display market in military aviation in the US, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of almost 2% from 2015-2019.

The latest report by Technavio draws attention towards aircraft manufacturers, including military and civil aircraft manufacturers, which are offering HUDs on all the next-generation aircrafts. HUDs enable the pilot to see through fog, haze, and deteriorating weather conditions and improve safety and aircraft economic efficiency.

“Military aircraft fly in diverse terrain conditions making them prone to accidents, hence, aircraft and avionics manufacturers and government regulators are implementing safety management systems and new technologies like HUDs to reduce the risk of accidents,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of Technavio.

The report also underlines the introduction of various micro display technologies, namely CRT, DLP, LCD, LCoS, and LED that have enabled HUD manufacturers to develop efficient HUDs with a large field of view with minimum aberrations.

“Next-generation display technologies like optical waveguides and MEMS-based laser scanning allows the HUD manufacturers to reduce the size of HUDs as these technologies can be easily integrated in a smaller footprint,” adds Ghaus.
