London, 08 May 2015: Technavio, the independent tech-focused global research firm, has published a report on the global automotive GDI systems market 2015-2019, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of 19.49% during the forecast period of 2014-2019.

With the reinforcement of fuel economy standards worldwide, the market is expected to exhibit significant growth. The US federal government has implemented rules to increase fuel economy and decrease greenhouse gas emissions, especially from passenger cars and light trucks.
“Turbochargers help the engine produce more power, enhance fuel efficiency and provide cleaner fuel combustion, thereby improving the overall performance of the engine,” says Faisal Ghaus, Vice President of Technavio.
“The vast majority of Europe’s GDI vehicles will also be turbocharged, with an estimated penetration of 90-92% by 2018. This will triple the GDI systems’ annual unit volume sales between 2010 and 2018.”
