TechNavio today published its report Cloud Services Adoption Market in the APAC Region – Survey Report. The survey elaborates on the major drivers of adoption of cloud services in the APAC region as well as the challenges that are hindering adoption.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio™s Data Centers team said, Our survey revealed that with regard to the community cloud service adoption, medium enterprises were the largest adopters in the APAC region. Small enterprises came a close second. The Government sector occupied the third place with their growing interest in this segment. Large enterprises who are not very keen adopters of the community cloud services held the smallest share.
According to the report, though the APAC region is witnessing increased interest in cloud services mainly because of the growing small and medium-sized businesses and the need to reduce the overall IT infrastructure cost, the market still faces some challenges. Some of these challenges are lack of clarity, security, and budget issues. Regulations and the small number of players were also found to be key challenges.
The survey was conducted among 100 IT service providers and cloud service providers in organizations in the APAC region. These organizations were chosen on the basis of their presence in the region and employee strength.
