Technavio’s market research analysts predict the fire sprinkler systems market in APAC to grow at a CAGR of more than 14% between 2016 and 2020. The growth of this market can be attributed to the need to comply with government standards pertaining to fire safety. The governments in various APAC countries are adopting model building codes that make installation of fire sprinklers compulsory in new homes. For instance, in India, these codes are under the jurisdiction of individual states. For states without a law or ordinance for the installation of fire sprinklers at homes, government incentives will promote their installation and use. Similarly, the government in China has also mandated the installation of fire sprinkler in buildings as per the Fire Act of 1998.
The new market research report from Technavio presents a breakdown and analysis of the fire sprinkler system segments based on the product.
“Smart fire sprinklers are gaining traction in the market currently. Smart fire suppression systems that identify the location of the fire in a building and extinguishes flames with flame suppressants are emerging in the market. This will reduce the wastage of water, one of the most important non-renewable resources. An example is the Automist Smartscan marketed by the UK-based manufacturer Plumis,” says Abhay Sinha, Lead Analyst, New Coverage, Technavio Research.
